The A-J occurrence is located on a ridge side approximately 4 kilometres south of the confluence of Snippaker Creek and Iskut River. It is approximately 97 kilometres northwest of Stewart, in northwest British Columbia.

The A-J area is underlain by a massive sequence of pillowed andesite basalt flows along with agglomeratic phases of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group. This volcanic package has been intruded by small rhyolite plugs in the southern half of the property. The only sedimentary rocks noted in the VG area are narrow (50 to 100 metres) beds of coarsely crystalline marble.

The J55 discovery outcrop is in the centre of the A-J Zone. It consists of highly chloritized andesite containing disseminated pyrite with minor chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite. Sulphides are most abundant along cleavage planes but commonly occur as blebs, stringers and flecks throughout the rock. A composite chip sample of 20 chips taken from a 3 metre width across the J55 outcrop assayed 50.95 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 20459).

The presence of medium-grained undeformed actinolite in the andesite of the J55 outcrop indicates that mineralizing fluids may have circulated from a carbonate host to the J55 showing.

Work History

In 1990, Consolidated Kyle Resources conducted trenching (123 metres in 6 trenches), soil geochemistry (549 soil samples), rock sampling (51 samples) and geological mapping over the various anomalous areas on the Gim property located by previous programs. This program located the high-grade gold mineralization on the AJ zone (Assessment Report 20459).

In 1991, as part of an extended property examination on the Gim property, Consolidated Kyle resurveyed and cut 4.8 kilometres of line on which they contracted Scott Geophysics to perform ground magnetic and VLF-EM surveys on the property (Assessment Report 22188). Over the three lines that covered the AJ zone, Time Domain IP was run.

In 2014, Colorado Resources Ltd. conducted rock and soil sampling in and around the A-J occurrence. Chip sample 2635374, a strongly chloritic and siliceous rock with pyrite and pyrrhotite sampled over 0.6 metre reported 95.1 grams per tonne gold and 0.228 per cent copper (Assessment Report 35184).

In 2018 Colorado Resources Ltd. drilled 7 holes in the A-J (Cave) area. Hole AJDDH18-130 intersected visible mineralization over an approximately 10 metre zone that correlated to anomalous gold in surface rock and chip anomalies. However, the intersection was disappointing when compared to the adjacent rock and chip samples in the proximity (greater than 30 grams per tonne Au). The remaining holes did not produce any significant results (except hole AJDDH18-133, which has elevated gold in metasedimentary rocks) (Assessment Report 38707).
